narrative
THE PROJECT
Best friends Amin (Shahine El-Hamus) and Mitchell (Daniël Kolf) work as street coaches in the lively neighbourhood of Schijndrecht. Not exactly a flashy job, but that changes when residents suddenly turn into creepy, slimy creatures. Together with a motley crew of local residents, the duo gets the ultimate chance to prove themselves.
THE IDEA
For this genre film we decided to pull out all the stops. Operating within a very tight budget every single stunt, outdoor location and night-scene had to be carefully weighed. I think we came up with the perfect mix to keep the audience involved.
THE SOLUTION
We opted for Atlas Orion anamorphic lenses. We embraced the anamorphic format as a classic for the genre. Blue streakes are all over the place with these lenses and it worked like a charm. The ARRI Alexa 35 was the perfect solution for long winter nights on a tight budget. Grand scale setups were kept to a minimum with the high ISO settings. My Gaffer Stijn Jonkhart did a wonderfull job just as my other crew members like Key Grip Joey Terwindt and 1st AC Marinka Schippers. Colorist Bart Verraest finished the film beautifully. The film received 4 stars across the board from al main newspapers.
